This policy explains what information Strawberry uses, how it is stored, and when third-party services may process data. It also explains your privacy choices and rights.
1. Who is responsible?
The operator of Strawberry is:
Eric Wündisch
Breite Str. 36
14943 Luckenwalde
Germany
Email: info@ericwuendisch.de
This policy covers the Strawberry table tennis training application. The website hosting this document may have its own privacy notice.
2. Information stored in Strawberry
Strawberry is designed as an offline-first, single-user training app. It does not require an account or operate its own server for synchronizing training data.
Depending on how you use the app, information stored locally on your device includes:
- Profile information: date of birth and playing hand.
- Preferences: language, appearance, exercise display preferences and other app settings.
- Training information: selected exercises, training plans, sessions, attempts, durations, completions and training history.
- Assessments and progress: your ratings, favorites and calculated progress indicators.
- App state: information needed to recover interrupted activities and manage locally recorded advertising or consent-related state.
Your date of birth is used to determine the appropriate age-related advertising safeguards. Strawberry does not require your name, email address or a Strawberry user account to use its training features. The app does not intentionally transmit your full date of birth or detailed training history to our own servers or to Google for advertising.
The training and progress indicators are intended for personal practice; they are not an objective or medically validated assessment of ability.
3. Where data is stored and how long it remains
The app primarily stores its training, profile and preference data in a local SQLite database on your device. These records generally remain until you delete them using the app's data-deletion function or remove the app and its local data.
An analysis window used for calculating progress does not automatically delete older training records. Closed training sessions and historical training data may therefore remain available beyond that window.
Your operating system may include app data in device backups or restore it from backups, depending on your device settings. We do not control those backups. Google and other platform providers may retain information they process under their own policies.
For instructions, see the Data Deletion Policy.
4. Advertising and Google services
Strawberry integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising and privacy choices. Advertising requests are subject to the app's configuration, age-related safeguards and applicable consent requirements. Some builds or circumstances may have advertising disabled.
When the Google services are active, Google and, where applicable, participating advertising providers may process information such as:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- app and device information, advertising or other device identifiers where permitted;
- interactions with advertisements or the app;
- performance, diagnostic and fraud-prevention information;
- consent choices and information needed to apply them.
Google may use such information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, only where permitted, personalization. Non-personalized advertising does not necessarily mean that no personal data is processed. Google provides information on its practices and advertising partners in the following documents:
- How Google uses information from apps that use its services
- Google Privacy Policy
- Google advertising technologies
The applicable consent interface may identify additional advertising technology providers. Their actual participation depends on the published consent configuration and ad serving arrangements.
5. Consent, privacy choices and device permissions
Where applicable, Strawberry uses Google's UMP interface to ask for or manage choices about advertising-related data processing. You can decline optional consent without losing access to the app's core training features.
Where a privacy-options control is offered in Strawberry's settings, you can use it to review or change your advertising privacy choices. Withdrawing consent takes effect for subsequent processing that relies on that consent; it does not retrospectively erase information already processed.
On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission is a separate system control. You can manage it through the device's privacy settings. Changing a UMP choice does not automatically change an ATT permission, or vice versa.
You may also adjust advertising preferences using Google My Ad Center, subject to the controls available for your device and account.
6. Children and teenagers
Strawberry uses the date of birth supplied in the app to determine age-related advertising settings. Its application-level advertising controls are designed to restrict personalized ad requests for users classified as children or teenagers and to apply relevant protective request settings.
Age information is self-declared; the app does not independently verify identity or age. The availability and content of ads also depend on Google's services and applicable platform requirements. We do not use a child's locally stored training history to build our own advertising profile.
7. Legal bases and purposes
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, the locally stored data is used to provide and maintain the features you request. Depending on the specific use, the legal basis is the performance of an app-use relationship (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, where applicable) or our legitimate interest in providing a functioning, reliable training app (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Age-related settings support our legitimate interest in applying appropriate safeguards and compliance with applicable legal obligations, where relevant (Articles 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Where consent is required for advertising personalization or use of device storage or identifiers, processing that requires consent is based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the applicable device-privacy rules. Other advertising processing may depend on the legal basis identified by the relevant provider and the applicable consent configuration. You are not required to consent to optional advertising personalization to use Strawberry's training features.
Our legitimate interests include delivering the app's requested functionality, protecting its reliability and preventing abuse. Advertising-supported operation is intended to help finance the app, subject to your choices and the law.
8. Recipients and international transfers
We do not operate an account database or a training-history synchronization service for Strawberry. We do not sell your training history.
If advertising or consent services are active, information may be transmitted to Google and to advertising technology providers identified through the applicable consent system. Such providers may process information in countries outside the European Economic Area. Where GDPR transfer rules apply, the relevant providers must rely on an applicable transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards. Details about their processing and international transfers can be found in their privacy notices and applicable consent disclosures.
9. Your rights
Subject to the applicable law and its conditions, you may have the right to:
- request access to personal data concerning you;
- request correction or deletion;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive data in a portable format where the legal requirements are met;
- withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier consent-based processing;
- lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
Because Strawberry primarily keeps training information on your own device and does not maintain a user account, we may be unable to view, identify or remotely delete that information for you. You can manage it directly in the app, as explained in the Data Deletion Policy. For questions or rights requests concerning processing for which we are responsible, contact info@ericwuendisch.de.
For information controlled independently by Google, consult Google's Privacy Policy and its available privacy controls.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app's features, third-party services or legal requirements change. The latest published version is available through Strawberry's privacy link. The hosting website may display the document's last-updated date.
